Certificates Thawte

Thawte is a leading global Certification Authority and provides SSL certificates since 1995. Thawte certificates are used globally to secure servers and include Wildcard, SGC SuperCerts and Extended Validation SSL Certificates.

Thawte has three product groups. The SSL123 certificate which has domain name validation (DV) and is issued within minutes, the SGC Supercert certificate which has organisation validation (OV) and SGC technology and the Web Server certificate which has organisation validation (OV) and is also available as an EV or Wildcard version.

SSL123 and SGC Supercert

SSL123 is thawte's entry level certificate which assures that information is kept private between your web server and your clients' web browsers.

The SGC SuperCert is thawte's strongest encryption certificate and delivers the best security for both the vendor and the user. It automatically steps up protection to a minimum of 128-bit encryption even if your customers use older browsers which have limited 40-bit or 56-bit encryption capabilities.

Web Server

The Web Server Certificate offers comprehensive authentication procedures (domain name and identity verification of the organisation who owns the domain). It also offers 256, 128, 56 or 40-bit encryption depending on your client's browser capability.

The Web Server Certificate with EV offers corporations and government entities the highest industry standard for identity authentication as well as 256-, 128-, 56- or 40-bit encryption. End users with the latest web browsers will see a green address bar and the identity of both the name of the website owner and the Certificate Authority (thawte).

The Web Server Wildcard Certificate allows you to secure multiple sub domains on one domain on the same server using *.domain.com pattern for the common name. It also offers 256, 128, 56 or 40-bit encryption depending on your client's browser capability.
